"Autumn Woods" Original Watercolour , on Canson watercolour paper. Size 9.5" x12.2" |
As some of you may have guessed by now, I've been smitten with the painting bug of late, and that my medium of choice is watercolours. Well, this month has seen two milestones in my artistic journey, I have sold a my very first lot of watercolour paintings!
(Doing a happy, very ,very undignified jig now)
Okay, serious face back on
The second milestone, largely catalysed by the first is the launch of my Facebook page,
(You can see it on Facebook, by clicking on the badge in the sidebar. )
While Im not great or famous as an artist (not by a long shot), I would love it if you'd drop by and take a look at my original artwork, and let me know what you think.

This is beautiful....... Wow!!
You are so much an artist already..
Keep going!!
All the best :)
I like the way the u have used vertical strokes to describe the leaves. I like that u carefully left the trunks of the trees bare... I used to use a 5paise coin to drag a white space after I had colored the canvas.
What can I say - Flaming Beauty
Nice painting. Congratulations on your first sale. I am sure that would have given a big boost to your confidence. Keep it up.
Deepika,
Browsing through your blog, I can see that you're quite artistic yourself, so your comment is very welcome :D
Welcome to my blog and I see we have some friends in common too!
Rajrupa,
Did you scrape off the colours after painting in watercolour on a canvas? That sounds interesting and worth a try :D In this painting, I've simply used a technique called masking to save the whites, 'cos Im too impatient to be careful when it comes to painting!
Thank you for your lovely comment, I like "Flaming Beauty" so much better!
Sabyasachi Patra,
Thank you , it did :D
I love your watercolours, and went through the photos you have posted on FB. Are any of them on sale? I particularly liked the one on roses. Do let me know.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, all the paintings on my FB page, with the exception of those that I have marked as "SOLD" are for sale. I will be emailing you the details tomorrow morning.
Came to your blog hopping from one to other..your paintings are really nice. Visited your facebook page and learnt that you are self taught..thats incredible. I have always been fascinated by water colors..and have ever since wanted to paint..I do paint but dont get satisfactory resuts..you look like a inspiation to me :)
Hi Namrata,
Thank you for your comments and the likes on my facebook page :D
About the self taught bit, there are a lot of very good (and free) tutorials on Youtube, which I've benefited from. Also, since you're painting in watercolours already, my advice to you would be to use the best quality paint and paper you can afford, ( it makes a world of difference in the finished painting) and of course keep painting, 'cos each painting is a learning experience too !
I wish you all the best and hope you start getting the results you want from your paintings soon :D
